Artes Mundi 11, the UK’s leading biennial exhibition and international contemporary art prize, is now live across Wales. Presented in partnership with the Bagri Foundation, this eleventh edition brings together six internationally acclaimed contemporary visual artists for a nationwide programme running from 24 October 2025 to 1 March 2026.

Building on the success of AM10, this year’s exhibition once again spans five partner venues across the country, with Aberystwyth Arts Centre joining the network for the first time. The winner of the £40,000 Artes Mundi Prize—the UK’s largest contemporary art award—will be announced during the exhibition in January 2026.

A Major Group Exhibition at National Museum Cardiff

All six artists are featured together in a central group exhibition at National Museum Cardiff, which acts as the hub of AM11. The presentation includes ambitious new commissions and significant museum loans that illuminate the core themes of each artist’s practice.

Across the exhibition, visitors encounter powerful explorations of loss, memory, migration, trauma, and environmental impact, with personal histories and storytelling forming a connective thread between the works. These shared themes are expanded further through a series of solo exhibitions across Wales.
