Ysgol Nantgwyn

Helen Blakeman (based on the novel by Malorie Blackman)

Sam is expecting an ordinary day—until Mr Mackie asks Class 8M to write a poem about someone they care about. To everyone’s surprise, Sam chooses Davey.

Davey was Sam’s friend, though Sam never admitted it. The cool girls thought Davey was “cute in a sad‑dog way”, while Morgan and his gang saw only someone different. Davey danced. He watched clouds and imagined whole worlds in them. He noticed things others ignored. Sam loved spending time with him, but fear kept him silent.

Then the bullying goes too far. Sam must decide whether to stay quiet or finally stand up for the friend he never claimed.

It turns out today is anything but ordinary.
