Everybody To Kenmure Street

Everybody To Kenmure Street is a powerful and inspiring new documentary capturing one of the most extraordinary acts of spontaneous civil resistance in recent U.K. history. Anti‑establishment spirit and grassroots activism have long defined the people of Glasgow, and in May 2021, that spirit erupted into action when a U.K. Home Office raid was launched at dawn on the first day of Eid.
Set in Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, the film chronicles how hundreds of residents dropped everything — work, school, daily routines — to surround an immigration van and prevent the deportation of their neighbours. What unfolded became a defining moment of community solidarity, as ordinary people united to challenge an unjust system and protect those living among them.
Through intimate testimonies, on‑the‑ground footage, and a deep sense of place, Everybody To Kenmure Street offers a moving exploration of what community truly means. It is a testament to the power of collective action, the strength of grassroots organising, and the belief that ordinary citizens can stand up and make a difference.
