Francis Dunnery – England’s Tales of the Council House Kid
Francis Dunnery, the English-born musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, continues to redefine artistic versatility. First rising to prominence as the lead singer and guitarist of the British prog-pop band It Bites, Dunnery launched a dynamic solo career in 1990 that has since spanned more than ten original albums across progressive rock, pop, folk, R&B, and blues.
His talents extend far beyond his own catalog. Dunnery has collaborated with some of the world’s most iconic artists, including Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Carlos Santana, Lauryn Hill, Chris Difford (Squeeze), James Sonefeld (Hootie & The Blowfish), and Ian Brown (The Stone Roses).
A true multi-media artist, Dunnery blends humor, philosophy, and astrology into his performances, most notably through his acclaimed House Concert series. His creativity is matched by his commitment to community: he is the founder of The Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund, a charity dedicated to improving children’s health and wellness in his hometown of Egremont, Cumbria.
With a career that bridges genres, generations, and disciplines, Francis Dunnery remains a singular voice in modern music and culture.
