Rîl Cymru: Eremos Trilogy

Rîl Cymru: Eremos Trilogy is a darkly comic, quietly affecting anthology of three short films from writer‑director Sam Arnold and cinematographer Samuel Ash.

Taking its name from the Greek word for isolation, Eremos follows three deaf protagonists, each confronting a different form of solitude within contemporary society. Through intimate storytelling and striking visual language, the trilogy explores the pressures, misunderstandings and resilience that shape deaf experiences today.

Alongside the films, Rîl Cymru delivers a BSL‑led programme of workshops, masterclasses and screenings created by Chapter and Deaf Gwdihŵ. The initiative supports Deaf and hard of hearing filmmakers as they build skills and confidence on the path toward feature‑level work. All sessions include captions and interpreters.

This project is supported by Ffilm Cymru Wales’ Connector Fund, a BFI NETWORK initiative made possible with National Lottery funding.
