The Moment

A24 Announces The Moment, a Sharp and Playful Mockumentary from Charli XCX, Aidan Zamiri, and Bertie Brandes

A24 is proud to present The Moment, a 2026 American mockumentary film directed by Aidan Zamiri and co-written with Bertie Brandes from an original idea by global pop innovator Charli XCX.

Charlotte Aitchison—known worldwide as Charli XCX—has been performing since her teenage years, building a decade-long career defined by critical acclaim and a fiercely devoted fanbase. In 2024, she released Brat, the album that reshaped her trajectory. With its introspective lyrics and euphoric, hedonistic production, Brat became a cultural lightning bolt, redefining a generation and propelling Charli into a new stratosphere of fame.

Set during the fading glow of “Brat Summer,” The Moment blurs the line between fact and fiction as it follows Charli at the end of her tour. Surrounded by record executives eager to capitalize on her meteoric rise, she navigates the pressures of sudden superstardom while trying to maintain her sense of self. The film offers a sharp, humorous, and intimate look at the machinery of fame and the artist caught inside it.

The ensemble cast includes Charli XCX, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, and Alexander Skarsgård.

The Moment premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2026, before its U.S. theatrical release by A24 on January 30. Early critical response has been mixed, reflecting the film’s bold, unconventional approach and its playful interrogation of celebrity culture.
