Christmas, Again
Bittersweet Festive Drama Returns to the Screen
A cult favourite of the holiday season, Christmas Again tells the poignant story of Noel, a heartbroken man who has spent five consecutive years working the night shift at a New York City sidewalk Christmas tree stall.
Devoid of festive spirit and struggling through long, cold nights, Noel finds himself spiralling until a chance encounter with a mysterious young woman in the park begins to change his outlook. Her warmth, along with the colourful characters who cross his path, helps to rescue him from his melancholy.
Shot in stunning Super 16mm, the film captures the quiet beauty and loneliness of the season, offering a perfectly bittersweet portrait of Christmas in the city. Written, directed, and produced by Charles Poekel, the film stars Kentucker Audley in the lead role.
Premiering at the 2014 Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland and later screening at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, the film has since earned recognition as a modern holiday classic
