Katherine Priddy

Since Richard Thompson hailed Katherine Priddy as “The Best Thing I’ve Heard All Year” in Mojo Magazine following her 2018 Wolf EP, her rise has been remarkable. Winning admirers including Guy Garvey, Mark Radcliffe, Stuart Maconie and the late Janice Long, she quickly established herself as one of the UK’s most exciting voices.

Priddy’s music has crossed genres and charts alike, hitting No.1 in the Official UK Folk Chart and No.5 in the UK Americana Chart, with her debut earning a place on Mojo’s Folk Albums of the Year.

Her reputation as a captivating performer has seen her grace stages at Cambridge Folk Festival (where she won the Christian Raphael Prize), Glastonbury (featured on BBC2’s coverage), Green Man, End Of The Road, Beautiful Days and the BBC Proms. Alongside sold‑out headline tours, she has supported legendary artists including Richard Thompson, The Chieftains, Loudon Wainwright III and Vashti Bunyan.

International acclaim followed in 2022 with performances in Australia, including Port Fairy Folk Festival, and a showcase at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City. In 2023, she contributed to Chrysalis Records’ Nick Drake tribute album alongside Self Esteem, Aldous Harding, John Grant and Bombay Bicycle Club, and supported Guy Garvey at The Roundhouse.

February 2024 marked the release of her eagerly awaited second album, The Pendulum Swing. Recorded in Birmingham with producer Simon J Weaver, the record features contributions from John Smith, Harry Fausing Smith, Marcus Hamblett, George Boomsma, Polly Virr, and even Priddy’s own family members — echoing the album’s themes of connection and legacy.

Critically acclaimed and debuting at No.1 in the Official UK Folk Chart, The Pendulum Swing has been championed by Iggy Pop, Guy Garvey, Craig Charles, Mark Radcliffe and Gideon Coe, with RTE in Ireland spotlighting tracks for three consecutive weeks. With her biggest headline tour to date selling out across the country and a performance on Later… with Jools Holland, Katherine Priddy’s star continues to ascend.
